But you have to remember, mods like Kaiserreich are total conversion mods.

No big deal if you have a small mod that just adds/changes a feature here and there. Paradox is great for having moddable games, they add content to it, and people keep playing, more content people have, the more they play. Now every time a new DLC/update is released, the mods on the workshop break.

I have around 200 games in my library and I have not played even half of them, and probably don't play the other 40% actively so just looking at sales figures is very dated. Also Steam records the amount played, so Paradox can simply look at "Hours played" and make a statistic of them, and see if people are playing it or not.

And its never a good thing to look at opening sales figures, since many games when they come out are very bugged & glitchy, and some if not most wait untill they are ironed out & the game is on sale, that way you get a rather bug free game at a lower price. (In description given an estimate of how many will be added & how much will it add currently.)ģ) When players buy a game they expect, and frankly are entitled to a reasonable period of support. Say if all of 3D models for CK 2 were 5€ for the whole current & future collection, I'd buy that instantly. That is why I suggested something like an unit pack collection, DLC's which would have been very small individually, would be grouped to something larger, which the company could put a higher price tag of course. Just look at the CK 2 DLC list in my original post. Do remember that DLC are supposed to be enchancing and adding things that you can buy relatively cheapely.Ģ) Paradox would lose the horrid fame of a DLC happy company which like it or not, is attached to them. Also larger expansions like for example with CK2, the Old Gods, Charlemange etc could be priced at around 10€, since 15-20€ for a DLC which adds considering the games scale, rather little seems a tad harsh, 15€ is a lot for DLC already. I might actually buy them "full priced" at that level instead of 2€ each. That was why a price reduction would make sense for the following reasons.ġ) Players could and would buy packs and additions more eagerly if unit packs were say 0.50€ each. If people do want to buy DLC, which most do, they just end up waiting for sales and buying them in mass. Point was that charging 2€ for 5 3D models is not that effective. Usually all that ends up doing is making people wait for sales, so really the tiny individual packs won't do much good, of course I don't have the figures from Paradox to back that up but as a student in economics, PR and sales wise larger packs with a reasonable price would seem much more beneficial to everyone involved. "Oh hey they added new songs to the sound pack" or they released an unit pack that contains the whole of Axis units (Germany, Italy, Japan, Czech, etc) Also paying a small amount each time feels sort of like they're asking more and more money from us, I mean I love the games, I have hundreds of hours played in HOI3, CK2 & EU4 but feel like there should be some sort of, don't want to say a Seasons pass, but just so there won't be 50 different DLC packs (Since this isn't EA & The Sims Franchise) and we could look. Reason why I'm asking since the current model is rather insane to be honest, each faction has unit packs, and even they are in parts. Or like a song DLC which has been 3 months in the making but contains 2 hours worth of music for 5€ instead of buying 6 song packs for 2€ each. Will it be same as in HOI3/CK2/EU4? As in tons in miniscule DLC packs and bigger ones, or perhaps will the smaller ones be grouped up to make a bit bigger DLC's, of course perhaps a little more expensive (no 2€ one's) but say for example an unit pack DLC which will cover the current, and future additions of the models.

I was wondering what will be be Paradox'es DLC policy regarding HOI4.
